CSTO competent bodies to discuss measures to prevent illegal migration in Dushanbe October 1 - CSTO spokesman

MOSCOW, September 29. /ITAR-TASS/. Heads of competent structures of the CSTO member-countries will discuss measures to prevent illegal migration at a session of the Coordination Council in Dushanbe on October 1, spokesman to the Collective Security Treaty Organisation Vladimir Zainetdinov told Itar-Tass on Monday. The participants in the session will focus on immigration control, ensuring cooperation between the migration services and border control bodies, monitoring of migration processes to predict their development and revealing new channels of illegal migration from third countries, Zainetdinov said. “We’ll consider an issue related to a possible mass flow of refugees from Afghanistan after the withdrawal of the International Security Assistance Force in 2014,” he said. “The participants in the session will also discuss issues of improving regulatory enforcement and increasing the effectiveness of preventive measures,” Zainetdinov added. The session will be attended by leaders of CSTO competent bodies in fight against illegal migration of Russia, Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan as well as representatives of the Coordination Service of the CIS Border Troops Commanders Council.
