CSTO member-countries confirm their intention to curb terrorist funding - statement

MOSCOW, December 21. /TASS/. The member-countries of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) have reaffirmed their intention to curb the funding of Islamic State and other terrorist groups. "We confirm the responsibility of all countries to make efforts to identify the organizations, individuals and entities involved in the economic ties with ISIS (former name of the Islamic State terrorist group outlawed in Russia) and other terrorist groups and reliably block the channels of terrorist financing," says a statement adopted during the CSTO summit on Monday. "We welcome the passing of the UN Security Council Resolution of December 17, 2015, on countering terrorist financing and the appeal to all countries to take the necessary measures against ISIS, al Qaeda and other associated individuals, groups and organizations," the document says. "We intend to consistently strengthen the CSTO power potential, boost its counter-terror component and increase the combat readiness of the Collective Rapid Reaction Force to effectively counter new challenges and threats," the statement said.
