CSTO summits to be hosted by countries holding organization's chairmanship

MOSCOW, August 31. /TASS/. As of this year, summits of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) will be held in the countries holding the chairmanship in the organization rather than in Moscow, CSTO Secretary-General Nikolay Bordyuzha told reporters on Monday. "The heads of state have decided that as of this this the next CSTO summits will take place in the countries holding the chairmanship of the organization," he said. This year the CSTO session will be held on September 14 and 15 in Dushanbe. There are about 20 issues on the agenda. According to Bordyuzha, the CSTO members will discuss such issues as the results of the surprise inspection of CSTO forces, the situation on the Tajik-Afghan border, the military transit, the creation of CSTO collective and united forces and other issues. The Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) comprises Russia, Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan. Read more
