Cuban Ambassador presents letter of credence

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ President of Mongolia Ts.Elbegdorj received today the letter of credence from the newly accredited Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Cuba to Mongolia, Mr Raul Delgado Consepcion. After the ceremony, the President and the Ambassador held a meeting. Mr Elbegdorj underlined that a new page was opened in the longstanding relations of Mongolia and Cuba during his official visit to the Republic of Cuba, took place in September at the invitation of the Chairman of State Council of Cuba, Mr Raul Castro. Mongolia and Cuba established diplomatic ties on December 7 of 1960. The Republic of Cuba was the first nation in the Latin America to have the diplomatic ties with Mongolia. The President highlighted that bilateral cooperation witnesses a progress in the areas of education, humanities, agriculture, medicine, pharmacology and sports, and mentioned many Mongolians, who have gotten higher education in Cuba, have been working with great performance and productivity back home. Noting that the Mongolian and Cuban universities of agriculture maintain broad cooperation, the President pledged support on the part of the President’s Office and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Mongolia. Mr Raul Degado Consepcion said he is looking forward to widening the enduring friendly relations and cooperation. President Ts.Elbegdorj expressed his confidence that in the coming years the business relations of Mongolia and Cuba would foster, and wished success to the Ambassador’s mission.
