Culture Min: Respecting Artists Is Paying Homage To Arts

Tehran, June 12, IRNA – Minister of Culture and Islamic Guidance in a message to a commemoration service for Master poet Askar Shahizadeh Ardebili said respecting artists is paying homage to arts, respecting literary figures is respecting literature and observing politeness before the most polite. According to an IRNA Culture Desk reporter from the Culture and Islamic Guidance Ministry, the full text of Seyyed Mohammad Hosseini’s message on the occasion is as follows: Respecting artists is respecting arts, respecting the literary figures is respecting the literature, and observing politeness before the most polite, and respecting the poets is praising the beauty of words and adorning its contents, and briefly speaking, praising the grandeur of the scientists is accrediting the sciences at the bazaar of evaluating the gems of this land of arts and sciences. He added: A poet is the manifestation of the insight and awareness of a nation to the extent of his presence and his influence in social developments, based on which his social status is distinguished. A poet is a full view mirror of the attitudes and intentions of the peoples of his day. Hosseini has noted: A poet is the guardian of verbal piety and the savior of his nation’s good name. The poet is the standard bearer of the caravan of boosting the culture and elevating the cultural status of a whole nation. If the Persian language was revived with the poems of Ferdowsi and reached the peaks of human nobility with gazelles of Hafez and ripped off the veils Gnosticism with the sword of tongue of Rumi, the wayfarers in this path should either follow suit and elevate their forefathers’ art, or to glow thanks to the transfer of souls of those great poets to their corpses. The message continues: Those who have dedicated themselves to serving the mankind and rid themselves of the barriers of self and us, would be remembered as greats by the mankind and after their demise, and those who have served their nation only due to the barriers of time and place, their nation, too, should safeguard the gems of their precious works with their entirety. A poet, thanks to the delicacy of his soul, with each verse of his poems that reveal a pain of his society and with his tear drops of the sorrows, the pains he feels with each social pain, and by rioting against each despot and resulting threats composes a national anthem so that the tale of the noble folks of various eras would never be forgotten, while the story of the wretched folks and the tyrants would be remembered as cleansing water with which the baths and the gardens should be washed clean./end
