Culture minister, OIC chief call for expansion of all-out ties

Tehran, Dec 3, IRNA - Minister of Culture and Islamic Guidance Ali Jannati and Secretary-General of Organization of Islamic Cooperation Iyad Amin Madani stressed expansion of all out ties. The two officials, in a meeting on Tuesday night, also called for development of Islamic media cooperation to resolve problems of the Muslim Ummah. Islamic states' news outlets should increase the fight against violence and extremism, they underlined. The 10th meeting of the Islamic Conference of Information Ministers inaugurated here Wednesday with an address Jannati. A large number of information ministers from Muslim states are attending the two-day ministerial meeting at Azadi Hotel in northern Tehran. During the inaugural session, Iran will receive the presidency of the 10th ICIM meeting from Gabon that presided over the 9th meeting. The ICIM expert meeting was held on December 1-2. The motto of the event is 'Media Convergence for Establishment of Peace and Calm in Islamic World'./end
