Curfew period shortened in Thailand

BANGKOK, May 28 (TNA) - The National Council for Peace and Order (NCPO) has announced a shortened curfew period, from 10pm until 5am to from midnigh until 4am, effective from May 27. The coup council announced the changed curfew time in its order issued on Tuesday night. The changed curfew period prompted all electric train services, including skytrain, underground train and Airport Rail Link systems, to immediately extend their service times accordingly, from 6am until 9pm to from 6am until 11pm, starting from May 28. The state-run Bangkok Mass Transit Authority (BMTA) also announced that its passenger buses would, from May 28, depart their depots from 3am and return to their depots within midnight, but its night-long bus services remain halted for the time being. Shopping centers have also extended their opening hours accordingly, including Siam Paragon, Siam Discovery, Siam Center and Siam Tower, from 10am to 10pm, which are their normal service hours.
