Customs Authority Chief Meets Singapore's Ambassador

Doha, March 17 (QNA) - Chairman of the General Authority of Customs Ahmad bin Ali Al Mohannadi met Singapore's Ambassador to Qatar Wong Kwok Pun. During the meeting, the two sides discussed the implementation of the free trade agreement between GCC and Singapore, which went into effect recently. They also touched on some issues related to customs and its role in the protection of domestic security and facilitating foreign trade as well as motivating international trade, in addition to the role of government bodies working at ports in boosting their economic power. The meeting reviewed some customs figures and statistics in Qatar and Singapore and discussed the importance of developing customs human resources and updating customs procedures. (QNA)
