Customs Dept to auction off about 300 vehicles

BANGKOK, June 27 (TNA) - The Customs Department will auction off more than 300 cars and motorcycles and expect to earn at least 550 million baht from the event. Seri Jongthairak, deputy director-general of the department, said interested parties could see the vehicles at the parking lot of the investigation and suppression bureau of the department on June 26-28. For this auction, the department will have 315 vehicles of various brands including luxury vehicles and big bikes. Starting prices will be lower than market prices. Mr Seri said the department expected to generate at least 550 million baht from the auction. Interested bidders must register and place their guarantees first. The highest starting price belongs to a Ferrari, item no. 153, at 20.6 million baht. The auction was set on June 29. Executives of the Customs Department also showed luxury cars stolen from other countries including Britain and Malaysia. Among them was an orange McLaren seized about two years ago. (TNA)
