Customs Directorate Participates in GCC Custom Union's Meeting

Doha, August 31 (QNA) - The General Directorate of Customs took part in the 8th meeting of the GCC Customs Union held today at the headquarters of the GCC General Secretariat in Riyadh. Qatar's delegation to the meeting was headed by the Directorate's Chairman Ahmed bin Ali Al Mohannadi. According to a statement issued by the General Directorate of Customs today, the meeting discussed all matters tabled on the agenda including the completion of the requirements of the GCC Customs Union, the latest developments in the distribution of customs revenues to GCC states, recommendations of the fourth team in charge of studying customs protection and the protection of local agents, in addition to study on treatment of products of factories built in GCC economic complexes with foreign investments. The meeting also followed up recommendations of the Committee of Customs Procedures and Computer, the GCC Unified Customs Law, the second meeting of the team charged with a study on the improvement of the performance of custom outlets and the joint meeting between the technical team on trade facilitation and representatives of the Unified Customs Law in line with the requirements of the World Trade Organization (WTO).
