Dahlan Has Candidates Ready To Replace Karen

Banyunas, Central Java, Aug 19 (Antara) - State enterprises minister Dahlan Iskan reported that he already has a list of candidates to replace Karen Agustiawan as president of Indonesia`s state-owned oil company Pertamina. "Certainly, I will propose some names, but it will be up to the president to choose, " he said here on Tuesday when attending a sorghum harvest in Pekuncen village, Banyumas, Central Java. He declined to mention the names, saying that Karen`s resignation date was on October 1. "Is there not still a long time?" he asked. He noted that the president-elect will only be confirmed later on August 22 following the ruling of the Constitutional Court, and so still much time was available to decide. Dahlan said President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono will discuss the appointment with the president-elect. He said whether the replacement will be a new figure will only be known after the inauguration of the new president. Asked if the position will be filled by the current railway company president director Ignasius Jonan, Dahlan replied that he will not. Jonan will be proposed for president director of electricity company PT PLN, he said, adding that it will all depend on the situation later. "It is still uncertain," he said.
