Dalal Al-Zayed receives AIPU's Parliamentary Excellence Award

Cairo, Feb. 18 (BNA): The Arab Inter-Parliamentary Union (AIPU) granted Chairperson of the Shura Council Legislative and Legal Affairs Committee, member of the Arab parliament, Dalal Jasim Al-Zayed, the Parliamentary Excellence Award. Al-Zayed praised the honour as a new achievement added to Bahrain’s track-record of parliamentary accomplishments. She also commended the unflinching support of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa to Bahraini women which enabled them to play a key role in the kingdom’s development process. Al-Zayed received the award today on the sidelines of the Bahraini parliamentary delegation’s participation in the 32nd conference of AIPU being held in the Egyptian capital, Cairo, under the theme “Arab Solidarity”. The delegation is headed by Representatives Council Speaker Fawzia Abdullah Zainal. During the conference, the presidency of AIPU was transferred from the UAE to the Kingdom of Bahrain.
