DCA DG To Issue Statement On MH370 Over RTM At 6 Pm Thursday

KUALA LUMPUR, Jan 29 (Bernama) -- An announcement by Department of Civil Aviation (DCA) director-general Azharuddin Abdul Rahman on the missing Malaysian Airlines Flight MH370 will be aired over Radio Televisyen Malaysia 1 (RTM1) at 6 pm Thursday, according to the Ministry of Transport. It said on its Twitter account that a separate arrangement had been made to communicate with the next-of-kin of the passengers and crew of MH370. Azharuddin was scheduled to issue a statement on the disappearance of MH370 at his office in Putrajaya at 3.30 pm Thursday, but the press conference was called off at the last minute. Flight MH370, carrying 239 passengers and crew, disappeared from radar while flying to Beijing from Kuala Lumpur on March 8 last year. The flight path of the Boeing 777-200ER aircraft is believed to have ended in the southern Indian Ocean. -- BERNAMA
