Deputy FM optimistic about people's approval of nuclear deal

Tehran, Sept 12, IRNA – Deputy Foreign Minister Moreza Sarmadi said Saturday that the government respects people's assessment about the nuclear deal, giving optimistic view about approval of the deal by the parliament. 'Assessment of people who are Constitutionally our masters about the outcome of the negotiations is important,' Sarmadi said, adding that people's will will finally play a significant role in examining the deal by the lawmakers. Sarmadi made the remarks when he was asked by the reporters to comment on examining Iran nuclear deal in the Parliament. It is natural in an open society like Iran that those in favor of important issues and their opponents express their views, Sarmadi said. 'I think it is important for all the officials and lawmakers to act based on the people's will and most of the surveys show that the people strongly approve the deal,' he said. Iranian Constitution gives the people and the parliament equal footing and the members of parliament are representing the people in the hierarchy of legislation.
