Deputy PM Babacan attends ceremony to remember Miyazaki who died in earthquake in Van

TOKYO (A.A) - December 6, 2011 - Turkish Deputy Prime Minister Ali Babacan attended a memorial service in Tokyo on Tuesday to remember Atsushi Miyazaki who lost his life in a recent earthquake in the eastern province of Van. Speaking at the ceremony organized by the relief organization AAR, Babacan said that Miyazaki earned the love of the Turkish people with his efforts in earthquake stricken Van and that Turkey would remember him with appreciation always. Miyazaki is a symbol of Turkish-Japanese friendship, Babacan said. Miyazaki will always be in the memories of the Turkish and Japanese nations with his courage and sacrifice, Babacan said. Babacan offered condolences to the mother and family members of Miyazaki. During the ceremony, Miyazaki's pictures shot by the AA were placed on display. Babacan presented a photograph of the Atsushi Miyazaki Traffic Training and Civil Defense Park constructed by the Istanbul Bahcelievler Municipality to the mother of Miyazaki during the ceremony.
