Deputy Premier chairs workshop

Manama, May 15 (BNA): Deputy Prime Minister His Highness Shaikh Mohammed bin Mubarak Al Khalifa chaired today a workshop on future aspirations. The plenary workshop, in a series of workshops shedding light on future aspirations in government work, was held within the framework of the comprehensive development march spearheaded by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and in light of the outcome of the Government Forum 2017 that was held under the patronage of His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa. The forum was organised in line with an initiative by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Premier who directed to hold workshops to map out mechanisms and define priorities for the government work plan 2019-2022. In a speech, the Deputy Premier pointed out the principles of Bahrain Economic Vision 2030 which are sustainability, competitiveness and justice. He also highlighted the goals and tools of the government work for the next phase as well as the role to be played by the public and private sectors. He underlined the importance of engaging citizens in mapping out future aspirations, adding that a lot of visions and proposals were received which reflect the citizens’ high patriotism and sense of responsibility. The Deputy Premier lauded the achievements brought about by the government work plan 2015-2018 in various sectors under the leadership of HRH the Premier and thanks to the support of HRH the Crown Prince. He also pointed out the efforts of the ministries, government institutions and officials in this respect. He stressed that development necessitates awareness of its requirements and hard work to bring about further accomplishments. Cabinet Affairs Minister Mohammed bin Ibrahim Al Mutawa said that 83% of the current government action plan 2015-2018 has been achieved. He also gave a detailed account on the outcome of the workshops to determine future aspirations in the next government blueprint that epitomises great ambition to maximise accomplishments for citizens.
