Deputy Premier receives Japanese Ambassador

Manama, Sept. 14 – (BNA): Deputy Prime Minister Shaikh Khalid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa on Sunday received in his office at Gudaibiya Palace the Ambassador of Japan to the Kingdom of Bahrain, Shigeki Sumi. Shaikh Khalid praised the Ambassador's efforts throughout his ambassadorial stint in boosting and consolidating the bilateral friendship and cooperation relations in various fields between the two countries fostered by the two leaderships. Shaikh Khalid cited the official visits of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, and His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Prime Minister to Tokyo and Bahrain's receiving several high-level senior Japanese officials, which affirm the Kingdom's belief in the pivotal important political and economic role of Japan both regionally and internationally. The ambassador praised the support and assistance he had received from the Government which facilitated his mission which reflects the level of bilateral relations between both countries, especially in the economic, commercial fields and the services and infrastructure sectors, which encouraged the establishment of a solid ground for the existence of several Japanese firms operating in Bahrain. Towards conclusion of their meeting, Shaikh Khalid wished the outgoing Japanese Ambassador all success in his future career and diplomatic assignments. (IY)
