Doha, September 12 (QNA) - The Doha Film Institute Cinema (DFI Cinema) will screen the highly-rated, award-winning mystery thriller, Searching (USA/2018), directed by Aneesh Chaganty, as part of its 'Contemporary Releases', on September 13 and 14, at the Museum of Islamic Art Auditorium.
The exclusive screening comes ahead of the film's official theatrical release in the region, offering Qatari residents the opportunity to watch it before it screens at commercial cinemas region-wide from the 27th of September.
Chief Executive Officer of the DFI Fatma Al Rumaihi said: "Our Contemporary Releases aim to bring a selection of the latest films that are acclaimed internationally and regionally, and provide local audiences with a taste of the best in cinema today."
The winner of the Audience Award and Alfred P. The film is told via technology devices used every day to communicate, as the father tries to trace his daughter's digital footprints before she disappears forever.
Director Aneesh Chaganty's 2-minute short film, Seeds, became an internet sensation after garnering a million YouTube views in 24 hours. He is a recipient of the prestigious Future of Storytelling Fellowship. (QNA)
