DFI Holds Annual Meeting for Qatari Innovators

Doha, November 27 (QNA) - Doha Film Institute (DFI) held its annual meet for Qatari artists and innovators on Wednesday night at W Doha hotel ahead of the launch of the second edition of Ajyal Youth Film Festival, which takes place from December 1 to 6. In a welcoming speech, DFI acting CEO and Ajyal director Fatima Al Rumaihi underlined the role of Qatari intellectuals in enriching the Qatari cultural scene, noting that Ajyal festival aims to enhance interest in cultural innovation that individuals may find in themselves, which, she added, makes it logical to focus on youth in Qatar and the Arab region ad spot the light on their capacities and innovations. She added that DFI doesn't only encourage innovative youth to specialize in filmmaking but also works to inspire them and provide them with the appropriate platform to express their ideas and give them intellectual and cultural experiences. The festival will feature 90 films from 43 countries and will have no shortage of Qatari youth talents as 20 films made by them set to be showed on December 4 and 5 in special programs. (QNA)
