Diesel, NGV prices to remain intact until next Thai government

BANGKOK, December 14 (TNA) - The Ministry of Energy says that a new price adjustment of natural gas for vehicles (NGV) and diesel above 30 baht per litre, as well as a new adjustment of the overall price structure for natural gas on the domestic market will be waited for the new Thai government to decide. Suthep Liumsirijarern, Permanent Secretary for Energy, told reporters on Saturday that, following the recent House dissolution, it is now likely that the price adjustment to reflect their real costs, ahead of the formation of the ASEAN Economic Community (AEC) by 2015, may not be able to carry out during the first quarter of 2014. Suthep acknowledged, however, raising the price of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) at 50 satang (0.50 baht) per kilogramme monthly, which will eventually see its price increased to 24.82 baht per kilogramme, will be continued without any interruption, as it was approved by the then Democrat Party-led government.(TNA)
