DIFI Hosts First Annual Family Policy Forum Tomorrow

Doha, May 29 (QNA) - The Doha International Family Institute (DIFI), a member of Qatar Foundation for Education, Science and Community Development, will host on Monday the first annual Family Policy Forum (FPF) under the theme of "Rethinking the Work-Family Reconciliation Policies in the GCC". Organized in collaboration with the Ministry of Administrative Development, Labor and Social Affairs, and the Executive Bureau of the GCC Council of Ministers for Social Affairs, the two-day Forum is an attempt to enhance the knowledge base of Arab Family matters, make family issues a priority for policy-makers, and encourage knowledge exchange on family matters through interdisciplinary networks which include researchers, policymakers, civil society organizations and service providers. This year's Forum emphasizes the rethinking of work-family reconciliation policies in the GCC within the local economic, social, cultural and demographic contexts, whereby the discussion will focus on national realities, contextual factors within the GCC countries and the possible alternatives that could be appropriate for Gulf societies.
