Dikranaasda Area As Place Of Tourism For Asian Games

PALEMBANG, South Sumatra, July 12 (Antara) - The area of the South Sumatra National Craft Council (Dikranasda) in the city of Palembang will be turned into an alternative tourism site of the participants and the guests of the 2018 Asian Games. Acting South Sumatra regional secretary Joko Iman Sentosa remarked here on Wednesday that the area of Dikranasda will further be developed to make it more attractive to Asian Games tourists. In developing the Dikranasda area, he said the local government will cooperate with third parties. In addition, the area will also be a place of creative economy for entrepreneurs, and an integrated tourism place where a star-rated hotel will be built, Sentosa said. With the presence of the star hotel, he said the visitors can spend the night there and buy various handicraft products produced by local small and medium businesses. Sentosa noted that the area has not been managed optimally so it is offered to private parties to develop into an alternative tourism area. In the run-up to the upcoming international sporting event of Asian Games, the area will be developed to attract the participants and the guests of the event.
