Disntinguished Bahraini-Moroccan relations hailed

Manama, July 11 (BNA): Islamic Affairs Undersecretary at the Ministry of Justice, Islamic Affairs and Endowments, Dr. Fareed bin Yaqoob Al-Meftah, has lauded the deep-rooted relations between the leaders and peoples of Bahrain and Morocco. While receiving the Moroccan Ambassador to Bahrain, Ahmed Rashid Khatabi, the undersecretary stressed the keenness of the two countries’ leaders to strengthen bilateral relations at various gatherings and through joint projects. Bahrain, under the leadership of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, has always been keen on strenthening its fraternal ties with Morocco to serve the interests of the two brotherly peoples, Al-Meftah said, adding that HM King Hamad and HM King Mohammed VI of Morocco attach special importance to religious affairs because of their role in promoting the authentic Islamic thought. The undersecretary highlighted Morocco’s constant interest in religious issues which, he said, contributed to making its religious and Islamic institutions unique and distinguished at the level of the Islamic world, praising HM King Mohammed VI’s keenness to promote mederate Islamic thought, preserve the authenticity and purity of Islam, fight extremist and terrorist ideology and reject sectarianism.  He highlighted the Justice Ministry’s annual hosting of Moroccan scholars and holy Quran readers to participate in its programmes and projects, as part of its efforts to activate the cooperation agreements signed with its Moroccan counterpart, and in order to benefit from Morocco’s experience in spreading the school of jurisprudence of Imam Malik, the Imam of Dar al-Hijrah, the official school in both Bahrain and Morocco, and to avail of The Mohammed VI Institute for the Training of Imams Morchidines and Morchidates to train imams and preachers.  He laudd the religious lectures held in Morocco during the holy month of Ramadan, in the presence of HM King Mohammed VI, and with the participation of a large number of scholars from all over the Arab and Islamic worlds, noting that such lectures contribute to promoting the moderate Islamic thought. The Moroccan envoy stressed the depth of bilateral relations.
