Do Not Be Easily Instigated To Spark Trouble - DPM

PUTRAJAYA, July 16 (Bernama) -- Do not be easily influenced by calls inciting quarrels to spark trouble among Malaysians be it Muslims or non-Muslims, said Deputy Prime Minister Muhyiddin Yassin. He said it was only appropriate that during the holy month of Ramadan and Aidilfitri, Muslims should refrain from anger and should be forgiving to strengthen friendship and solidarity among the people. "Islam is a religion of brotherhood as Islam encourages us to mutually respect each other. "If we practise the real teachings of Islam, I believe we will be able to maintain peace and harmony in our multiracial and multi-religious country," he said in his Aidilfitri message. According to him, Ramadan trains Muslims to curb their daily life desires to build a happy and prosperous life. Muhyiddin said in the chase for wealth, Muslims should not by controlled by desire and greed or there would be criminal breach of trust in carrying responsibilities entrusted upon us. "In carrying out the powers bestowed upon us, we should not be cruel and unfair to anyone. "What is important is to ensure the harmony and happiness of Muslims in the world and hereafter. Remember, we do not seek comfort in the world but it is Allah who dispenses happiness in the hereafter," he said. He hoped Ramadan would teach Muslims to be better and more noble humans who would be more devoted to Allah and hope all the noble practices carried out in Ramadan would continue in the people's daily lives after this. Muhyiddin also called on urbans residents returning to their kampungs to drive carefully and obey all traffic rules and be patient to safeguard the safety of their families as well as other motorists on the road. -- BERNAMA
