Doctor says King needs complete rest

BANGKOK, Dec 5 (TNA) - Realizing that the general public might get worried over His Majesty the King’s health following cancellation of activities on his 87th birthday celebrations Friday, Prof. Dr. Udom Kachinthorn, dean of the Siriraj Faculty of Medical Science, said the king needs only complete rest in order to regain his strength. The Royal Household Bureau has issued an announcement, saying that His Majesty the King has decided to cancel his activities, including a public audience on his birthday, causing his subjects to become worried over his health. Dr. Udom said the king’s condition remains stable and he needs complete rest as the doctors at Siriraj Hospital want him to regain strength. About three weeks earlier, His Majesty the King developed high fever and suffered inflamed colon, but his condition is now cured after medication is given. However, His Majesty the King still needs at least one month for recuperation while the medical team will closely oversee about food and rest taken by him, he said, stressing that the revered king will not travel anywhere today.(TNA)
