Doha Hosts 1St Edition of INDEX

Doha, November 13 (QNA) - The international exhibition of decor and interior design (INDEX) kicked off in Doha Monday, with the participation of dozens of companies specializing in furniture, interior design and lighting, and will last for three days at the Doha Exhibition and Convention Center. HE Qatar Chamber Chairman Sheikh Khalifa bin Jassim bin Mohammed Al-Thani said that INDEX Qatar has witnessed a wide participation of specialized companies in the equipment and interior designs that came from many countries to showcase their latest innovations in this vital sector, despite the unjust siege imposed on the State of Qatar, which confirms the confidence of international companies in the Qatari market. His Excellency pointed out that the growth of construction projects in the State of Qatar is proceeding at an accelerated pace that ignores the siege, which has led major international companies specialized in this field to showcase their innovations in the Qatari market. He stressed that Qatar is witnessing a growth in the construction market and real estate projects, in addition to the constant continuation of the projects of the 2022 World Cup, according to the schedule prepared, which provides great opportunities for interior design companies to contribute to these projects. His Excellency expected the exhibition to witness the signing of deals and alliances between Qatari and foreign companies in this sector. INDEX Qatar event director Jaafar Shubber said that research and analysis conducted on the Qatari market showed that the value of the construction and interior decoration market for interior designers in Qatar will reach about USD 1.5 billion next year, which is considered a major growth that Index Qatar will be able to contribute to achieving. Shubber added that the exhibition is witnessing the participation of more than 50 local and international manufacturers and suppliers, bringing the latest furniture and decoration products to help equip hundreds of ongoing and future projects across Qatar. He noted that the exhibition will witness daily seminars that will witness the participation of designers from among the most famous in the region and the world, as well as a series of interactive events and activities will be held on the sidelines of the three-day exhibition.
