Dozens of illegal Rohingya migrants nabbed while fleeing

SONGKHLA, August 21 (TNA) - More than two dozens of illegal Rohingya migrants have been arrested while fleeing from an immigration police custody in the Thai South. Regarding Tuesday's escape of 87 illegal Rohingya migrants from Sadao's immigration police custody in Songkhla province, Songkhla Police Commander Police Major General Suwit Choensiri confirmed on Wednesday that 30 of them have been found. Police Major General Suwit acknowledged that 24 of the 30 ethnic Rohingya Muslims were nabbed by Malaysian authorities while they were trying to sneak into the Malaysian territory. According to the provincial police commander, local police and administrators have been tracking down more than 50 other Rohingya escapees in border areas. (TNA)
