Dozens of Kuwaiti racers nabbed in Pattaya

PATTAYA CITY, THAILAND, July 29 (TNA) - Thai police have arrested over 40 Kuwaiti men in eastern Pattaya City of seaside Chon Buri Province for illegal racing and public disturbance, while their 26 motorcycles were seized. Friday's operation of the over 50 police officers followed complaints filled by local residents that a group of tourists had gathered for bike races around the resort city during late night times until dawns, causing public disturbance and troubles. All the arrested Kuwaiti racers were taken to Pattaya's tourist police station for further questioning on charges of reckless driving. An initial inspection found that all the confiscated motorcycles, including big bikes, were rented, while some were modified with bigger exhaust pipes to create louder noise and some did not have legal registrations. The police said the owner of the rented motorbikes has already been called in to show legal documents for the motorcycles, while all the modified exhaust pipes have been seized and destroyed. (TNA)
