DPM:New Charter will assure single-standard for Thai society

BANGKOK, March 12 (TNA) - Deputy Prime Minister Dr. Wissanu Krea-ngam assures that the interim government is working out Thailand's new Constitution in a way that it will be single-standard for the society Dr. Wissanu, who oversees legal affairs, made the assurance at a seminar on the justice system held at the Judicial Training Institute in Bangkok on Thursday, saying that the new Thai Constitution would prevent double-standards in the society. Dr. Wissanu noted, however, that double standards cannot be concluded by the feelings or opinions of conflicting parties, but judgment must be based on the content of laws, while the state is duty-bound to prevent prejudice in work and all concerned parties, including the police and judges, must work straightforwardly. The deputy prime minister also told the seminar that the government is developing quality in the Thai justice system by promoting morality, convenience and reliability in it. The deputy prime minister pointed out, meanwhile, that there have been 28 legal cases which draw special attention from the public and all of them happened before May 22, 2014, when the Thai army- led National Council for Peace and Order (NCPO) took control of the national administrative power, stressing that he does not think prosecution of the cases is slow, as alleged, becasue each case is complicated.
