DPRK Birthday to Be Marked in Lebanon

Pyongyang, August 8 (KCNA) -- A Lebanese preparatory committee for marking the 70th birthday of the DPRK was formed on July 31. Zaher al Khatib, chairman of the Lebanese Committee for Supporting Korea's Reunification who is secretary general of the Lebanon Federation of Workers, was elected as chairman of the preparatory committee. The preparatory committee set a celebration period from Aug. 1 to Sept. 12 and decided to organize colorful political and cultural events praising the feats of President Kim Il Sung, leader Kim Jong Il and the respected Supreme Leader Kim Jong Un for the foundation and development of the DPRK in the period. -0-
