Pyongyang, March 8 (KCNA) -- In the DPRK, the women have led a happy life, receiving much benefits from the state. In this regard, Paek Myong Ae, department director of the C.C., Socialist Women's Union of Korea, told KCNA: Our women do not know well about how much and what kinds of social benefits they are granted by the state. The state saw to it that national institutions, industrial establishments and social and cooperative organizations took enough labor protection measures for the women workers. In particular, it is specified by law that the women are not allowed to do physically difficult or harmful labor and women with nursing babies or pregnant women are not made to do any night work. The state provides on a preferential basis all conditions such as nursery, kindergarten and service establishments for the women workers so that they can take active part in social labor. Expectant and nursing mothers are offered regular and supplementary holidays along with a maternity leave. And women workers with more than three children are paid the same living expenses as others, while working limited time. The state also preferentially treats those women with many children and takes special protection measures for them. Recently, a medical treatment ticket has been issued for the women with more than three children and, accordingly, their husbands and children of school ages get privilege for receiving treatment at any hospitals. -0-
