Drug Abuses And Traffics Dominate Legal Cases In Bekasi In 2013

Bekasi, Dec 4 (Antara) - The Bekasi district prosecution office said drug abuses dominated legal cases in the Jakarta`s neighboring district so far this year. "There are 80 drug cases including drug abuses and trafficking every month on the average and 60 percent of which are drub abuses," Bekasi chief prosecutor Enen Saribanon said after a ceremony destroying drug related evidence here on Wednesday. Based on data at the prosecution office, from January to July this year, the prosecution brought 670 cases of drug abuse to court. Evidence confiscated from suspects included 182 kilograms of marijuana , 255 grams of heroine, 145 grams of methamphetamine and 48 ecstasy pills , all worth Rp1.5 billion in the street. The prosecution office also burned fake money valoued at Rp1 billion and 2,000 bottles of alcoholic drinks. Enen said the evidence was destroyed to mark the International Anti Corruption Day on Dec. 9, 2013.
