Dubai Customs to dig 30 wells during Ramadan in response to U.A.E. Suqia

Dubai (WAM): Dubai Customs has launched a charitable campaign aimed at digging 30 wells during the Holy Month of Ramadan, one well every day, in response to the U.A.E. Suqia initiative of Vice President and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum. U.A.E. Suqia is aimed at providing clean water to five million people worldwide - the initiative that will be implemented through digging wells, provision of water pumps and water purification equipment to targeted underprivileged areas. "Dubai Customs' project consists of digging 30 wells in the most underprivileged regions in Africa and Asia, where potable water is scarce, and will be executed in coordination with a number of local charitable organisations," said Ahmed Mahboob Musabih, Director of Dubai Customs. "Providing drinking water, the source of life, for those who need is a great and highly rewardable act of benevolence." "Launching this charitable campaign is the least thing we could do in response to the initiative of H.H. Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid. I am particularly happy to see the large turnout of our employees and their passionate enthusiasm to join in this humanitarian action." Mr. added that Dubai Customs is keen on undertaking regular societal projects to meet its community responsibilities and get fully engaged in all humanitarian initiatives of the nation. – Emirates News Agency, WAM
