Duraz illegal gathering suspects questioned

Manama, July 22 (BNA): Chief Prosecutor at the Northern Governorate Prosecution Adnan Mattar said that the Public Prosecution had been notified by the Budaiya Police Station that a number of people, some of whom were identified, held an illegal gathering on a public road in Duraz on July 15. The Public Prosecution launched an immediate inquiry into the incident, questioned nine suspects, in the presence of their defence, and ordered the release of two of them due to their personal conditions and the old age of one of them, Mattar said. The Public Prosecution remanded the remaining suspects in custody pending investigations, and charged all defendants with holding an assembly in violations of the provisions of the Law. It also ordered the arrest of the other identified suspects for questioning, ahead of referring the case to the court, the chief prosecutor added.
