Dusit Zoo to be relocated

BANGKOK, Dec 3 (TNA) – The Dusit Zoo will be relocated to Pathum Thani province, adjacent to Bangkok due to overcrowding in animal shelters. His Majesty the King Maha Vajiralongkorn has given a new plot of land with the total area of about 120 acres for use in building a new zoo in Thanyaburi district on November 30 to the government. Established since 1938, the Dusit Zoo falls under the supervision of the Zoological Park Organisation under the Royal Patronage of His Majesty the King. The relocation of the zoo is expected in 2019.
