Dy Minister: 55000 foreigners studying in Iran

Shahr-e-Kord, July 17, IRNA – Deputy Minister of Science, Research and Technology for educational affairs Mojtaba Shariati Niasar said on Tuesday that more than 55,000 foreign students from 85 countries are studying in Iran's universities. Of course, according to the sixth development plan foreign students' population in Iran should become four folded, but considering imposed sanctions of hegemonic power this goal would be difficult, Shariati said. He also said that plan to upgrade the level of potential universities to international ones is being pursued by the Ministry.
