E-Learning Initiative is Source of Pride - SEC Official

Doha, May 30 (QNA) - The Supreme Education Council stressed that the E-learning Initiative in Qatar was the start of a new reality dictated by the evolution of the means of communication and technology. The SEC Office of Information Technology Director Amal Ahmed Al-Kuwari said in a speech, at ceremony of ending the E-learning school year 2013-2014, that the developments and changes are happening, adding that "the E-learning initiative was serious step to keep pace with the developments and to advance of the future of our children, towards whom we are obliged to provide the tools and methods that enable them to live in this changing future". She extended thanks and gratitude to all those who contributed to the success of the initiative which, she said, is a source of pride to all Qatar's citizens and residents. The ceremony saw another speech by Nada Mohamed, an E-learning Programme senior official, in addition to screening a film on the phases of the programme titled E-learning Journey. The SEC Office of Information Technology Director Amal Ahmed Al-Kuwari honored members of the E-learning Programme's steering committee as well as the pilot phase schools and the distinctive schools' portals. E-Learning program is an initiative which has been launched by the SEC in order to develop the educational process and to provide the e-services, based on integrated digital technology to enhance the efforts of the Government of Qatar in improving the quality of teaching and learning. The Programme, among other objectives, aims to achieve Qatar’s National Vision 2030 in the human development field, increase the positive trend and to raise the community awareness about "ICT" and its impact on both of the teaching and learning process, be a leader in the educational system by increasing the efficiency and quality of education, achieve the educational aims of Qatar by effective and smooth ways, through handling all of the educational system by the use of modern communication and to reach the learning outcomes that are able to meet the challenges of higher education university education and the labor market.
