Economic cooperation is in limelight of Russia-Egypt relations - Putin

HANGZHOU (China), September 5. /TASS/. Moscow and Cairo give priority to economic cooperation in bilateral relations, Russian President Vladimir Putin said at a meeting with his Egyptian counterpart, Abdel Fattah el-Sisi, on the sidelines of the G20 summit. "We have a rich history of interaction and cooperation, and bilateral relations have yielded fruitful results in recent years," the Russian leader said. He also noted that he values good and trust-based relations with his Egyptian counterpart. "I would like to emphasize that relations both between the governments and parliaments are developing. Cooperation has been established between the Security Council and law enforcement agencies. Of course, economic cooperation issues are always in the focus of our attention," the Russian president said. Taking part in the meeting on the Russian side were Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov, Economic Development Minister Alexei Ulyukayev, Rosatom Corporation CEO Sergey Kiriyenko, head of Rosneft Igor Sechin and Russian Direct Investment Fund CEO Kirill Dmitriyev. The Egyptian delegation included several ministers and other high-ranking officials. Read more
