Education Minister Meets Kyrgyz Counterpart

Doha , September 21 (QNA) - HE the Minister of Education and Higher Education and Secretary General of the Supreme Education Council (SEC) Dr Mohammed bin Abdul Wahid Al Hammadi met here today with the visiting Kyrgyz Minister of Education Kanat Sadykov and his accompanying delegation. Talks during the meeting focused on aspects of joint cooperation between the two countries in educational areas and ways of enhancing them. The meeting was attended by a member of the SEC officials. Following his visit to a number of independent schools, the Kyrgyzstan Minister stated that the objective of his visit to Qatar was to sign an agreement with the SEC and activate cooperation between the two countries in education and science, hoping that the signing of the agreement would be an initial step in this regard. "We expect the well-equipped schools that we visited today will be a model for schools in Kyrgyzstan," he said, commending the availability of the sate-of-the-art facilities in these schools. This indicates that they attach great importance to science, technology and foreign languages, he added. He also extended his thanks to those in charge of such schools, wishing them more success. Kyrgyzstan Minister of Education arrived in Doha last night on a three-day working visit to Qatar, where he will sign a cooperation agreement between his country and Qatar. He will visit tomorrow Qatar Foundation for Education, Science and Community Development, Qatar University and Aspire Academy for Sports Excellence. (QNA)
