eGOV Global Exchange 2013, ImbX Ministerial Forum Opens in Singapore

SINGAPORE, June 17 (Bernama) -- Malaysian Communication and Multimedia Minister Ahmad Shabery Cheek is attending the eGov Global Exchange 2013 and Infocomm Media Business Exchange (imbX) Ministerial Forum on ICT which opened Monday at the Marina Bay Sands Expo and Convention Centre. More than 500 delegates comprising top industry leaders, academics and representatives from international organisations are attending the meeting, among them 70 ministers and senior government officials from 60 countries/regions. Singapore's Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Finance Tharman Shanmugaratnam opened the forum. Carrying the theme, “Engaging Citizens, Co-creating the Future”, this year’s eGov Global Exchange is set to discuss how governments can work with businesses and the public to develop public services, use technologies to promote closer collaboration with businesses, and achieve new efficiencies for the public sector. Singapore Minister for Communications and Information Dr. Yaacob Ibrahim delivered a keynote address at the forum. After the opening, Ahmad Shabery (front row 2nd from left) participated in the imbX Ministerial Forum on ICT. The imbX is Asia’s largest infocomm and media event that incorporates CommunicAsia, BroadcastAsia, EnterpriseIT and inter-government meetings such as the imbX Ministerial Forum on ICT. The event is jointly organised by the Singapore Exhibition Services and Singapore Infocomm Technology Federation, and is hosted by the Infocomm Development Authority of Singapore (iDA) and Media Development Authority of Singapore (MDA).
