Egyptian military honoured

Manama, May 5 (BNA): BDF Commander-in-Chief Field Marshal Shaikh Khalifa bin Ahmed Al Khalifa bestowed the Field Military Service medals on participants from the Egyptian naval and air forces who took part in "Hamad 1" joint drill in tribute to their dedicated efforts to boost bilateral military cooperation. BDF Chief of Staff Lieutenant General Dhiab bin Saqr Al Nuaimi presented the medals during a celebration today at the Royal Bahrain Naval Force's Hid Naval Base marking conclusion of the joint military exercise. After a recitation of some verses from the Holy Quran, a practical demonstration of "Hamad 1" joint drill, which consisted in implementing a number of field military tactics, was carried out as part of plans to boost operational readiness and exchange expertise with the Egyptian Armed Forces. The BDF Chief of Staff listened to a briefing by the drill's commander on the stages of the military exercise and its goals. He thanked the participants for their efforts, lauding the spirit of brotherhood and cooperation shown during the exercise as well as their high competence and performance which reflected the advanced level of both countries' navies. The conclusion of the military drill was attended by senior officers from BDF and the Egyptian Armed Forces.
