Emirates Red Crescent and Emirates Auction sign agreement to reinforce UAE’s leadership in philanthropy through charity auctions

ABU DHABI, 17th February, 2016 (WAM) -- The Emirates Red Crescent, ERC, has signed an agreement with Emirates Auction to launch a series of charity auctions in line with their joint efforts to reinforce excellence in humanitarian and development work. The agreement was signed by Dr. Mohammed Ateeq Al Falahi, General Secretary of Emirates Red Crescent, and Abdullah Matar Al Mannaei, Managing Director of Emirates Auction. Both parties emphasised their commitment to consolidating their strategic partnership and developing ambitious projects that support the objectives of UAE Vision 2021, which is geared towards establishing the UAE as an exceptional model for developmental and humanitarian initiatives. Under the terms of the agreement, Emirates Auction will provide cash and in-kind donations in line with its commitment to support humanitarian projects being implemented within the Emirates Red Crescent initiatives at both local and international levels. The company will also host the organisation’s online auctions, as well as support the joint projects that aim to enhance public awareness on the significance of charitable and humanitarian work and spreading the culture of volunteerism among society. The agreement designates Emirates Auction as the party responsible for all marketing activities of the ERC projects via its website and within its halls that periodically host auctions. The company will also provide the ERC with advertising and auction services. Dr. Mohammed Ateeq Al Falahi said, "We have chosen to collaborate with Emirates Auctions in line with our active efforts to work with a national socially-responsible company that features leading initiatives, and which can support our efforts to achieve our vision on leadership and excellence in humanitarian work. "We are sure that our new partnership will be an added value to our network of solid humanitarian partnerships with the business sector and civil society organisations, to protect the lives of humans and help the weak and the needy all over the world, in line with the wise vision of the UAE leadership." Abdullah Matar Al Mannaei said, "We are pleased to establish a strong partnership with the ERC, which will strengthen efforts to develop charity and voluntary work, based on the concept of online auctions, which is one of the pillars to support the leadership on philanthropy and social solidarity, the values of which were laid down by the founding father, the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan." – Emirates News Agency, WAM -http://www.wam.ae/en/news/general/1395291671589.html
