Erdenet MC saves USD four million

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ "The Erdenet Mining Corporation (EMC) will save four million USD as a result of a cooperation agreement with the Darkhan Metallurgical Plant to buy twenty thousand tons of steel balls in one year, instead of providing them from private companies," told the Director-General Ts.Davaasuren Tuesday. He was appointed as such seven months ago. "This is the outcome of a tighter scrutiny over the corporation's procurement". Furthermore, he noted that he is not in the same mind with some businessmen who regard the EMC as a cash cow for themselves, a place to sit pretty in short time. "The corporate has an ongoing problem of purchasing expensive domestic goods instead of cheaper ones from foreign firms," he adds. "Though, what we strive for now is to provide the plant with cheap and high quality procurement".
