Ethiopian Orthodox Patriarch informed about multiculturalism in Azerbaijan

Baku, April 21, AZERTAC Ambassador of Azerbaijan to Ethiopia Elman Abdullayev has provided an insight into a multicultural environment in Azerbaijan during a meeting with Patriarch of the Ethiopian Orthodox Tewahedo Church Abune Mathias. The diplomat said: “Azerbaijan has made contributions to promoting the multiculturalism across the world”, adding “this has yielded results”. Mr. Abdullayev highlighted successes of Azerbaijan in various fields, as well as international events held and hosted by the country to promote inter-cultural and inter-religious dialogue. They discussed prospects of developing relations between Azerbaijan and Ethiopia, saying “there is potential for boosting ties”. Mr. Abdullayev said “Azerbaijan attaches great importance to the cooperation with African countries”, adding “the embassy will take measures to develop bilateral relations with African countries, including Ethiopia”. Patriarch Mathias stressed the importance of continuing joint efforts towards developing ties between Azerbaijan and Ethiopia
