EU to implement €19m project to support education in Azerbaijan

Baku, February 12, AZERTAC Support to education is a priority area for future EU support to Azerbaijan, said EU Ambassador to the country Malena Mard. She said EU will implement a €19 million project in partnership with the Ministry of Education to assist the country in modernizing its education system. Mard said the funding will be made available to support the government to reform universities and vocational education schools and bring them closer to European standards and practices. She also hailed Azerbaijan`s participation in Erasmus Mundus program that fosters co-operation between universities of EU and third-countries through individual mobility of students and academic staff.
