Euronews TV prepares special reportage on Eurovision in Baku

Baku, May 15 (AzerTAc). Euronews TV has prepared a special reportage on the last stage of preparation for Eurovision. The reportage describes how the Azerbaijani duo Ell & Nikki became the winner of last year`s contest, features the recent technical preparations for the contest. “Nigar Jamal (Nikki) has never thought off a singer career. Eldar Gasimov (Ell), on the contrary, competes to win”, the reportage says. “Baku is an ancient city. It is not so easy to find an area to build a hall for the planetary scale concerts. It took a year for the engineers, architects to build a concert hall. The general contractor is the biggest German engineering-construction company “Nussli International AG,” it underlines. “The first Eurovision Song Contest was held in 1956, and was won by French singer France Gall. It also brought great success to “Abba” band. The contest lasts for seven and a half hours. This is a great event not only for Europe,” event executive Sietse Bakker said in an interview to Euronews. According to the Executive Supervisor of the Eurovision Song Contest Jon Ola Sand, there is a need to adapt local customs, method of work, and culture while organizing the contest.
