Event in honour of Thai King, Queen organised at Government House

BANGKOK, July 27 (TNA) - An event in which exhibitions and documentary media are organised in honour of His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej and Her Majesty Queen Sirikit has been launched at Government House in Bangkok. Thai Prime Minister General Prayut Chan-ocha presided over a ceremony to launch the event at the government seat on Monday. Students from 88 schools nationwide and the general public participated in the event and joined activities to publicise the Sufficiency Economy Philosophy, initiated by His Majesty the King. The prime minister told the participating students that Thais must start from learning the country’s history” and be grateful to Their Majesties the King and Queen, who have fought against poverty of the Thai subjects. The prime minister admitted that Thailand remains slow in national development because of several lingering problems, including insufficient innovative development. The prime minister pointed out that Thailand, thus, needs technological development in order to increase added values to prepare for the establishment of the ASEAN Economic Community (AEC) by the end of this year.
