EVENTS DEDICATED TO NAADAM HOLIDAYS

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ This year’s "Naadam" is to mark the 2224th anniversary of the Hun Empire, the 809th anniversary of the Great Mongol Empire and the 94th anniversary of the People’s Revolution. A Program of the Naadam's events was released Friday by the Government. - Archery competitions, one of the Three Manly Games, will run July 7-9 at the archery field near Central Stadium. - July 10 will see young-age horse races at Khui Doloon Khudag – Naadam Complex, Grand National Archery Competitions at Central Stadium, State Flag Tribute Event in Chingis square, and wreath-laying ceremonies to statues of Chingis Khaan and General Sukhbaatar. Later on, we can expect in the central square, the "Mongols in Deel" annual festival and "Uchirtai Gurvan Tolgoi" national opera. - On July 11, expected are the stallion and other adult horse races at Naadam Complex, semi-finals of "shagai" (anklebone) shooting competitions, and a special ceremony for exalting the Nine White Banners of State in Central Stadium. President Ts.Elbegdorj will open the Naadam celebrations and pay tribute to the State Banners. National wrestling competitions will start at the Stadium. Naadam will officially open at Khui Doloon Khudag. In the evening, an "Ulaanbaatar Night" concert and a ceremonial fireworks will take place. - On July 12, the “Soyolon” (three-year-old horse) race will run at Khui Doloon Khudag. Finals of "shagai-shooting", national archery and wrestling competitions will take place. The head of state will award the winners of Three Manly Games–of archery, wrestling and horse-racing, of children’s categories and of shagai-shooting competitions. Naadam celebrations will officially close at 8pm at Central Stadium by the President’s speech, and the Nine White Banners will be escorted back to the State House by Honor Guards. Many other interesting actions will run elsewhere, such as "Mongol Khuushuur 2015" food festival, "Mongolians on horses" sports show, "Morin Khuur" (horse-head fiddle) international festival.
