Exhibition On Islamic Calligraphy At Islam Museum

KOTA BAHARU (Kelantan, Malaysia), May 15 (Bernama) -- An exhibition on Islamic calligraphy is currently held at the Islam Museum here, from Thursday until month-end. Indian High Commissioner to Malaysia, T. S. Tirumurti (centre) said 41 Islamic calligraphy pieces were on display at the exhibition. He said they were brought from India's Rampur Raza Library - estabilished since 1774 - to Malaysia which was the first country chosen to exhibit the calligraphy. "We chose Kelantan because the people around here appreciate this," he said when met by reporters after launching the Photography Exhibition of Islamic Calligraphy here Thursday. Also present was Kelantan Chief Minister Ahmad Yakob (right). Tirumurti said 15 events would be held nationwide during the Festival of India 2015 in Malaysia which began in mid-March and would end in June. "We are going to every state such as Pahang, Melaka, Sabah and the others," he added. The Festival of India 2015 is organised by the Indian High Commission. (photoBERNAMA) --BERNAMA
