Expert Enlightens Umno International Forum With Folk Tales

KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 25 (Bernama) -- The creativity of a panelist in one of the sessions at the Umno International Forum 2014 in relating two folk tales helps make his presentation on hyperconnectivity lively and interesting. Cambodian Secretary of State Ministry of Mines and Energy Dith Tina (rpt: Dith Tina) conquered the attention of the delegates with his story telling. The first tale was about a naughty boy who was killed by a wolf after no villagers came to his aid, even though he repeatedly screamed for help. "Why nobody wanted to help? This is because prior to the incident, the boy had repeatedly called for help just to have fun. "In this hyperconnected world, the moral of the story is nobody should abuse the Internet and development (of issues) in the social media by posting speculations, as well as false news, because it tarnishes the responsible party," he said. He brought this message at a session entitled 'Hyperconnectivity and Social Media: Empowering Citizens To Build Or Drive A Nation' at the Putra World Trade Centre here, Monday. The two-day forum, themed 'Hyperconnected World: Challenges in Nation Building', is held in conjunction with the 2014 Umno General Assembly, which begins Tuesday. Citing another example, Tina once again captured the delegates' attention by telling a story about a dispute between two women, who both claimed themselves as the mother to an infant, causing a king to find a solution to determine the rightful mother. "The king then asked for the baby to be presented to him in order for him to cut the baby into two pieces, so both mothers can have their respective parts. "One woman rejected the idea and was willing to give away the child. As to how the king gave away the baby to the rightful mother, I would like to suggest both the ruling and opposition parties to agree on certain matters, setting aside their differences, in order to bring prosperity and betterment to the people and nation," he explained. -- BERNAMA
